New petrol, diesel prices on Monday
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, June 1
The Centre would announce on Monday the decision on the revision of prices of petrol and diesel, Petroleum Minister Ram Naik said today.

“We will announce the decision on the revision of prices on Monday”, Mr Naik told mediapersons after holding lengthy confabulations with Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha.

Mr Sinha said a consensus had been reached on “some adjustment in excise duty and some increase in prices. This might take place on Monday”. The Petroleum Minister said the Finance Minister agreed to provide some excise concessions on petrol and diesel. This would cushion the increase in the prices of the petroleum products to some extent.
