Patiala, May 11
The police today questioned a university teacher regarding e - mails sent to ousted Vice-Chancellor Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia, telling him about details of action being taken against him by those agitating for his removal even as Dr Ahluwalia was grilled for two hours by Inspector-General of Police Anil Kaushik today.

According to sources, a university teacher was called twice to the office of the IG today and asked about the e-mails purportedly sent by him, informing Dr Ahluwalia about the activities of the Joint Action Committee, which was agitating for his removal, as well as the police.

Dr Ahluwalia remained closeted in the IG’s office for two hours today. He was reportedly asked about some objectionable photographs recovered from his personal computer. He was reportedly also asked about his movements during the period he was in hiding when criminal cases had been registered against him and also the persons with whom he had stayed during this period.

Meanwhile, sources said Ranjit Singh, the bodyguard of the former VC, who has made serious allegations against him claiming that Ahluwalia had taken girls on trips to various hill stations and had also danced under the influence of liquor with girls at Guru Gobind Singh Bhavan in Chandigarh, was also summoned to the VC’s office. Dr Ahluwalia has been asked to come again on May 13.
