Advani, Kanshi discuss tie-up in UP

New Delhi, April 16
In a development signalling the coming together of the BJP and the BSP, Mr Kanshi Ram today met Home Minister L.K. Advani and reportedly discussed a tie-up between the two parties for a coalition government in Uttar Pradesh.

Mr Kanshi Ram’s meeting with Mr Advani came a day after BSP vice-president Mayawati had called on the Home Minister and discussed the issue.

The meetings come amidst reports that the two parties have already sewn up an alliance under which Ms Mayawati would be the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister’s post would go to the BJP and with equal representation to the two parties in the Cabinet. PTIBack
