Advani spells out terms for talks
with Pak

New Delhi, March 9
The Union Home Minister, Mr Lal Krishna Advani, today laid down a five-point charter of demands for holding talks with Pakistan. “We are ready to talk with Islamabad if they fulfil these five demands. We are ready to discuss even the Jammu and Kashmir issue, if they meet these demands,” Mr Advani said at a rally here.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today said the government would be forced to take action against Punjabi University Vice-Chancellor Dr Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia in case he did not resign.

Kerala staff call off stir
Thiruvananthapuram, March 9
The 32-day-old strike by over five lakh Kerala Government employees and teachers was called off today. The decision to call off the strike was separately announced by the employees unions owing allegiance to the Congress and the CPM led LDF following talks with the Congress-led UDF Government which made face saving concessions to them.
