Finance for Singla in due course: CM

Makha (Mansa), March 8
The Punjab Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, today said Mr Surinder Singh, MLA from Bathinda, would be made Finance Minister in due course of time.

Capt Amrinder Singh made this announcement when a mediaperson asked him why Mr Singla was not inducted into the Cabinet as Finance Minister when he was tipped for the post during the election campaign.

He said the Cabinet would be expanded but right now the government had other priorities. In the next Cabinet expansion, all areas would be given representation.

Two choppers crash in Japan

Tokyo, March 8
Two Ground Self-Defence Force (GSDF) helicopters on a night raining mission went down in Japan’s south-western Oita Prefecture apparently after a mid-air crash, killing all four crew members onboard, a GSDF spokesman said today. The two OH-6D choppers were found about 50 metres apart at the Mount Haneyama in the town of Kokonoe in Qita 960 km south-west of yesterday. DPA
