Thakur confirms it is plague

New Delhi, February 19
The Union Health Minister, Dr C.P. Thakur, confirmed that the mysterious disease which had claimed four lives so far was nothing but the much-dreaded plague. Addressing mediapersons here after wide ranging consultations with experts and meeting with the Prime Minister, the Health Minister said: “This unfortunately is one thing that really turned out to be plague.”

1 dies in blast; 3 ultras shot
12 militants surrender
Jammu, February 19
A civilian, Shabir Ahmed, was killed and 12 others were wounded in a grenade explosion near Government Dak Bungalow in Kishtwar this morning. According to the police, a grenade hurled by a militant on the bungalow missed its target and exploded at a crowded place.
