EC for action against cops
New Delhi, February 7
Expressing concern over violation of the code of conduct, the Election Commission today asked the Haryana Government to immediately initiate action against state police officials, reportedly accompanying ministers in the ongoing election campaign in Uttar Pradesh.

No compromise with Pak in sight: Advani

Mr Advani today said no compromise seemed to be in sight with Pakistan on the issue of terrorism. Addressing a large public gathering in support of BJP candidate and Local Bodies Minister Balramji Das Tandon at Jhanda Ground here, Mr Advani said India had been successful in explaining its view point to the world and would not let up the pressure on its war against terrorism.

Russia: hand over ultras to India

Russia today backed India’s stand that Pakistan must put its words on rooting out terrorism into action. Visiting Russian Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov asked Pakistan to hand over terrorists and criminals sought by it and disarm terrorists groups operating on its soil to prove on ground its recent commitments to root out terrorism.

Kashmir cut off, 1 dies of cold

Srinagar, February 7 The Kashmir valley was today cut off from the rest of the country following a fresh spell of snow, disrupting life and snapping air and road links, including the cancellation of Haj flights.
