Ram Temple not on agenda: BJP
VHP ready for talks with Centre
New Delhi, January 31
Wilting under the pressure of NDA partners and with an eye on the crucial Assembly elections in UP, the BJP today distanced itself from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad campaign on Ayodhya warning that the Sangh Parivar outfit will have to face “legal consequences” if it went ahead with the construction of Ram Temple after March 12 disregarding judiciary.

Two killed in bus blast
Garhshankar (Hoshiarpur), January 31
A powerful blast took place in a running Punjab Roadways bus near here as a result of which two persons were charred to death early this morning. According to forensic experts the blast was caused by a bomb.

Ridiculing Pakistan’s reported move to demand handing over of Home Minister L. K. Advani, Defence Minister George Fernandes today asked Islamabad to “behave in a serious manner” and hand over the 20 terrorists and criminals demanded by India immediately to prove its sincerity to fight terrorism.

Kidnapping of scribe: Pak sees Indian link

Pakistan today alleged an "Indian linkage" in the kidnapping of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl but refused to go into details.

Coming down heavily on Punjab’s Chief Secretary for submitting a report that “concealed more than it revealed” in a case pertaining to unauthorised constructions, including marriage palaces, within 1000 yards of Baddowal army ammunition dump on the Ludhiana-Ferozepore road, a Division Bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court today directed Ludhiana’s District and Sessions Judge to hold another inquiry into the matter.

CM summoned in land-grab case
Bathinda, January 31
Mr Surinder Mohan, Chief Judicial Magistrate, here today issued summons against the Punjab Chief Minister, Mr Parkash Singh Badal, the Science and Technology Minister, Mr Chiranji Lal Garg and the Additional Chief Administrator, Mr Ajaib Singh Bhatti, for securing their appearance in person or through their counsel on February 12 in a civil suit filed against them by an advocate, Mr N.K. Garg, in connection with the alleged grabbing of government land measuring 400 acres.
