CM rules out FBI probe into blast
Extradition of prime suspect to be sought
Kolkata, January 24
West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today ruled out an FBI investigation into Tuesday’s attack on the American Centre in which four policemen were killed and 20 injured. “We have not called the FBI and any question of calling them for investigation does not arise at all,” Mr Bhattacharjee told reporters here.

The country’s yet another multi-purpose communication satellite, INSAT-3C, was successfully blasted into geosynchronous transfer orbit in the 147th flight of Ariane 42L launch vehicle from Korou in French Guyana.

The election manifesto of the SAD which is being given a finishing touch will focus on political stability and unfold new schemes aimed at ‘‘resuscitating’’ agriculture and rural economy and accruing benefits to farmers. Restoration of ‘‘dignity’’ of the Punjabis and the Sikhs, besides peace and communal harmony, will also be part of the theme song.
