India gives Pak more time to act
 New Delhi, January 15
The Cabinet Committee on Security today decided to give more time to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf to crack down on cross-border terrorism and infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir and act on India’s demand for extradition of 20 wanted terrorists and criminals based in Pakistan.

Pak moves missiles near border
Washington, January 15
 Pakistan is constructing missile launch sites near its border with India and recently moved a number of missiles towards the area, claims The Washington Times.

SC directs Punjab to complete SYL canal
New Delhi, January 15
Taking exception to the non-completion of Sutlej-Yamuna link canal by the Punjab Government, the Supreme Court today directed that it should be completed with in a year from now to augment the water supply to Haryana and Delhi. In case the Punjab Government failed to accomplish the task with in the stipulated period, the Centre should get the work done through its own agency, the court said.

Snow blocks Jammu-Srinagar road
Shimla experiences first snowfall
Jammu, January 15
Heavy snow in the Pirpanjal Ranges in the Doda-Poonch belt blocked the 300-km Jammu-Srinagar highway today, official sources said here. Heavy snow blocked Jawahar tunnel causing vehicular traffic to come to a standstill, the sources said.
