Sonia attacks scribe in court compound Hisar, September 9 Sonia and the others were produced before a Magistrate today. The police sought extension of Sonia’s remand on the ground that an arms licence was required to be
recovered from Delhi. The Magistrate agreed to extend the remand by a day only. An unseemly situation was created in the court compound when Sonia was brought there. Visibly upset by the presence of photo journalists, Sonia freed herself from the policemen’s grip and ran after them. She caught hold of one photographer of a local eveninger and threw his camera on the ground. The policemen caught hold of her, much to the relief of media persons. Later, she was produced before the magistrate. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Mr Om Prakash Chautala, today visited the residence of Poonia and assured the villagers that the case would be investigated properly. He said the investigation had been handed over to the Vigilance Department. Nobody involved in the crime would be spared. He appealed to the public to cooperate with the police in the investigation.
