Shimla, September 4
Four students of Indira Gandhi Medical College here have been arrested following a clash between two groups which led to ransacking of the police post at Sanjauli last night.

Four vehicles, including two of the police, were damaged due to pelting of stones. Windscreens of two cars parked near the degree college, Sanjauli, were also smashed.

Tension had been mounting after a clash between a group of students of the IGMC and some locals a day earlier. The students were alleging that the police was shielding the other group which consisted of some “miscreants”.

The IGP, Law and Order, the SP, Shimla, and other officers are supervising the follow-up action.
