PSEB Chairman goes on leave
Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, August 25
The Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) Chairman, Mr G.S. Sohal, having met the Chief Minister, Mr Parkash Singh Badal, in New Delhi, has proceeded on leave.

This was confirmed to TNS by Mr Sohal when contacted on his cellular phone.

He, however, did not reply to any other question. On being asked what was the problem between him and the minister, Mr Sikander Singh Maluka, he said “Äsk him. Your paper has been writing against the board. You should have asked me yesterday whether I have been told to resign or not”.

Informed sources told TNS that Mr Sohal would go on “medical leave” for four months. His current term expires on January 13. Though details of his meeting with the Chief Minister were not known, Mr Badal was reportedly “unhappy with the overall performance of the board”. Several ministers had also told the Chief Minister to remove the PSEB chief.
