The political instability plaguing Manipur for the past seven days seems to be heading for a denouement with the newly formed BJP-led Progressive Democratic Alliance (PDA) deciding to stake claim to form government in the next 48 hours.

No role for Hurriyat: Pak

Pakistan today ruled out any role for the Hurriyat in the talks between Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and Pakistan’s Chief Executive Gen Pervez Musharraf.

BJP leader denies report on RS seat

The Bharatiya Janata Party will not give up its claim to the Rajya Sabha seat in Punjab. Denying reports, the BJP central observer for Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, Mr O.P. Kohli, said this at a press conference here today.
