Charges framed against Salman

Jodhpur, April 13
A city court today framed charges against eight accused, including film star Salman Khan and comedian Satish Shah, in a case relating to the black buck poaching, and fixed June 2 as the next day of hearing.

Kerala Cong crisis may end soon

Thiruvananthapuram, April 13
Emissaries of the Congress High Command, Motilal Vora and Ghulam Nabi Azad, who held talks with party veteran K. Karunakaran and CWC member A.K. Antony to bring about a rapprochement in the crisis-ridden state Congress over seat-sharing, today said most of the issues had been sorted out.

“If there is something more to be done it would be settled in-house”, Mr Azad told reporters after meeting the two leaders.

“The talks were successful and we are very happy about the outcome the emissaries said

The two state leaders had affirmed their resolve to defeat the ruling CPM-led Left Democratic Front in the May 10 elections to the state Assembly, the emissaries said.

Asked if Mr Karunakaran had given any assurance that he would withdraw his resignation as permanent invitee to the CWC, Mr Azad said they had pressurised the former Chief Minister to do so. PTI
