New Delhi, April 3
There was violence on the streets of the Capital today as the transport crisis deepened and angry commuters torched six buses and damaged several others. After waiting for hours for buses, people became violent and torched six public transport buses, including one Haryana Roadways bus in the Badarpur area of South Delhi.

A day after the arrest of B.P. Verma, removed as Chairman of the Central Board of Excise and Customs, and three others, the CBI has arrested K. Vijay Pratap, alleged to be the middleman who bribed the seniormost customs official.

Fake-job racket unearthed

A racket of fake appointments in the Health Department has come to light. While the Ajnala police has registered an FIR against one of the ‘beneficiaries’ the Tarn Taran police is still probing the matter. Though the civil surgeon is not competent to appoint clerks, yet appointment letters were issued to them under ‘forged signatures’.
