Two soldiers, one militant killed
Jammu, March 5
In a bid to demoralise the security forces and sabotage the peace process, militants carried out yet another rocket attack on an Army camp at Seri Khwaja near Surankot in Poonch district today.

Advani fails to appear before panel

The Union Home Minister, Mr L.K. Advani, today failed to appear before the Liberhan Commission, probing the sequence of events leading to the demolition of the disputed structure at Ayodhya on December 6, 1992.

Jaya drops TMC-Cong combine

The efforts to form an electoral alliance between the AIADMK and the TMC-Congress combine virtually failed today with the AIADMK deciding to fight the elections in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry by teaming up with the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) and sharing power in the union territory.

Cong may form third front in TN
New Delhi, March 5
Taken aback by the AIADMK decision to dump it in Pondicherry and offer a few seats in Tamil Nadu, the Congress today seemed to be preparing for floating a third front in both states.

2 Indian women among 36 killed in Haj stampede

Thirtysix Haj pilgrims, including two Indian women, were crushed to death in a stampede during the “Stoning of Satan” ritual today near the holy city of Mecca, state-run Saudi television reported.
