The British Government yesterday banned 21 groups, the majority Islamic, which it has branded as terrorist under a new law enabling it for the first time to proscribe organisations targeting foreign states.

40 killed as bus falls into rivulet
Chamba, March 1
About 40 persons were killed and one was injured when an HRTC bus plunged into the Budhil rivulet, a tributary of the Ravi, at Lahal, 50 km from Chamba, this evening. 

Fiji interim govt illegal: court

The military-backed government installed after a nationalist coup was today declared illegal and ordered to give up power to clear the way for a swift return to democracy after a ruling by the court of appeal. The government said it would accept the court’s decision.
