50 hurt as blasts rock Kashmir
Attempt to blow up Central Telegraph Office
SRINAGAR, Jan 9 . At least 50 persons, including two CRPF jawans, were injured in two powerful explosions set off by militants outside the main telecommunications office in the heart of Srinagar and in a market at Anantnag today.

Issuing the necessary travel documents to all the seven executive members of the APHC slated to travel to Pakistan on January 15 appears to have hit a serious roadblock with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government having second thoughts in respect of Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Sheikh Ahmad Aziz, it is learnt.

CHANDIGARH, Jan 9 . Punjabi pop singer Gurdas Mann was injured after the car in which he was travelling had a head-on collision with a truck near Seona Majra village, 6 km ahead of Kurali on the Ropar highway today. His driver Tej Pal Singh (35) was killed on the spot.

Plot to blow up Rajdhani Express
PATNA, Jan 9 . A visibly extremist plot to blow up the Rajdhani Express was foiled on Tuesday when two live bombs hidden on the Grand Chord line tracks near Dhanbad were detected in time and defused by the GRP.
