L.M. Goyal is Haryana Chief Secy Chandigarh, Dec 30 — Mr L.M. Goyal, Financial Commissioner and Secretary Revenue, Consolidation and Rehabilitation Departments, was today named as the next Chief Secretary of Haryana, in charge of Protocol, Hospitality,
Training, Grievances and Vigilance Departments succeeding Mr Vishnu Bhagwan who would be retiring on December 31. Earlier, the Chief Minister, Mr Om Prakash Chautala, had hinted at Mr Goyal emerging as Mr Bhagwan’s successor when he stated at a press conference on Thursday that there was no possibility of giving an extension to Mr Bhagwan. The Chief Minister had said that he would go strictly by seniority for choosing the new Chief Secretary of Haryana. Meanwhile, in a major administrative reshuffle, the Chautala government in Haryana today transferred 28 senior IAS officers. The state government while transferring 28 IAS officers has also shifted Deputy Commissioners of three districts. Mr A.N. Mathur, Financial Commissioner and Secretary Finance and Deputy Chairman, Planning Board, has been posted as Financial Commissioner and Secretary Revenue, Consolidation and Rehabilitation and Finance Department and Deputy Chairman, Planning Board. Mr P.R. Kaushik, Financial Commissioner and Secretary, Printing and Stationery Department will also look after work of Housing Department relieving Mr Dharam Vir of the said charge. Mr M. Shankar, Financial Commissioner and Secretary, Prohibition, Excise and Taxation Department will also look after the work of Town and Country Planning. Mr Prem Prashant, Financial Commissioner and Secretary, Education, Languages and Archieves and Archaeology has been posted as Financial Commissioner and Secretary PWD (B & R) and Member Secretary, Sales Tax Tribunal. Mr Dharam Vir, Commissioner and Secretary, Food and Suplies, has also given the charge of Information Technology Department vice Mr P.K. Choudhary who has been posted as Commissioner and Secretary, Education, Languages, Archieves and Archaeology. Mr Chander Singh, Commissioner, Ambala Division, Ambala and Principal RTA, Ambala becomes Commissioner and Secretary, Irrigation in place of Mrs Urvashi Gulati who has been posted as Commissioner and Secretary Wildlife, in place of Mr S.P. Sharma, who will be new Secretary to Governor vice Mr Manik B.Sonawane who becomes Commissioner and Secretary, Forests and Mines and Geology. Mr S.C. Chaudhary, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Secretary, Town and Country Planning and Urban Estate Departments becomes Commissioner and Secretary, Industries. Mr Maha Singh, Special Secretary, Revenue and Rehabilitation-cum-Chief Settlement Commissioner becomes Commissioner, Ambala Division and Principal RTA, Ambala.
