Bibi Jagir Kaur’s arrest stayed
Tribune News Service

CHANDIGARH, Nov 9 — A court at Patiala has stayed until November 13 arrest of Bibi Jagir Kaur, President, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, in Harpreet Kaur case. An order to this effect was passed today.

Mr S.N. Aggarwal, District and Sessions Judge, Patiala, passed this interim order after the CBI counsel pleaded that he was not prepared to contest the anticipatory bail application moved by Bibi Jagir Kaur.

After hearing arguments of both sides, the court directed the CBI counsel to come prepared on November 13 when the bail application would be taken up again. The counsel also argued against any interim relief to the petitioner.

On the other hand, the counsel for Bibi Jagir Kaur argued that she has been falsely implicated in the case as she was not in Phagwara when Harpreet Kaur died. Further, there was no direct evidence against Bibi Jagir Kaur.
