Babbar held with 5 kg of
RDX, arms KAPURTHALA, Oct 29 (UNI) — The police has arrested a terrorist belonging to the Babbar Khalsa from the residential colony of the Rail Coach Factory here and recovered 5 kg of RDX, besides arms and ammunition, from him. The seizure included a pistol, five live cartridges, seven detonator wires, 10 empty detonators and counterfeit notes. The arrested terrorist was identified as Narinder Pal Singh Khalsa, alias Sahbaz Singh. He had close links with Wadhawa Singh of the Babbar Khalsa. He had brought the consignment from abroad for creating disturbances in Punjab on the occasion of Divali, Superintendent of Police Iqbal Singh told mediapersons here today. The police has registered a case under Section 25 of the Arms Act and the Explosives Act against him. Narinder Pal Singh was jailed for the murder of Nihang Jarnail Singh in 1990 but was later released on bail. After his release he again developed links with terrorists living abroad. The police registered a case under Section 25 of the Indian Telegraph Act in 1997 against him for maintaining telephone links with terrorists abroad. In 1998, the police recovered a mauser of 30 bore, two magazines and six cartridges from him and registered a case against him under the Arms Act. |
