Power panels must for incentives
Union Minister tells states
CHANDIGARH, Oct 20 — The states which do not constitute power regulatory commissions will not be given incentives, but there is no plan to impose restrictions on such states in the near future, says Union Power Minister Suresh P. Prabhu.

Bus fare hike withdrawn
CHANDIGARH, Oct 20 — In less than 24 hours, the Punjab Government has withdrawn the notification pertaining to the hike in bus fares.

Manhunt on to trace Nishan

Israel refuses to help in UN probe
GENEVA, Oct 20 — Israel said today that it refuses to cooperate with a United Nations inquiry into alleged human rights violations in the West Bank and Gaza. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement rejecting a resolution passed yesterday by the UN Human Rights Commission condemning Israel for “widespread, systematic and gross violation of human rights.”
