Pilot killed as MiGs collide

NEW DELHI, Oct 16 (UNI) — Two MiG-21s collided in mid-air over Darrang-Sonitpur districts of Assam today, killing one of the pilots.

According to information received here, Flying Officer Jot Singh who was flying an MiG-21 trainer was killed while another person accompanying him bailed out. The crash took place around noon.

The fate of the pilot of the other MiG-21, which too had taken off from the Masamari air base in Tezpur, was not known as the fighter had fallen in a remote area in Rowmari in Sonitpur district.
