CBI grills Dalvinder Kaur
Tribune News Service

NEW DELHI, Oct 12 — The CBI today grilled Dalvinder Kaur in connection with the mysterious death of Harpreet Kaur, daughter of the SGPC chief Bibi Jagir Kaur.

Dalvinder Kaur, who is said to be a close friend of Bibi Jagir Kaur, was interrogated by a team of CBI’s special investigation cell, the CBI sources said here.

She was arrested on October 4 here and remanded in police custody till October 15 by a Delhi court yesterday.

According to sources, the arrest of Jagir Kaur will depend a great deal on the disclosures of Dalvinder Kaur, who has been charged with criminal conspiracy and illegal confinement of Harpreet Kaur.

Harpreet Kaur, alias Rosy, who was pregnant, had died on April 21 under mysterious circumstances.

While refusing to disclose anything about the disclosures made by Dalvinder Kaur so far, a senior CBI official said, “It is too early to say anything as her interrogation would continue for next two days.”

Meanwhile, the CBI is yet to decide on whether to issue a fresh summons to Nishan Singh, Personal Security Officer of Bibi Jagir Kaur, to appear before it for questioning.

Nishan Singh, who was summoned through the Punjab police to appear before the CBI on October 10, did not turn up.

The questioning of Nishan Singh would be crucial for the investigators, as he could provide vital information relating to the case.

The CBI had on October 6 questioned at length Kamaljit Singh, who claims to be the husband of Harpreet Kaur, and claims that the five persons arrested by the CBI were closely related to Jagir Kaur.

While the CBI had arrested Dalvinder Kaur from Delhi, the other four accused Harminder Kumar, Satya Kumari, Paramjit Singh and Sanjeev Kumar were arrested from Phagwara in Punjab on October 4.

The CBI has raided several places, including Dalvinder Kaur’s bungalow at Phagwara, Jasdil Mansion, which has been in the eye of the storm on account of its alleged direct link with the death of the daughter of the SGPC chief.

The CBI had registered an FIR against Jagir Kaur after the Punjab and Haryana High Court on June 9 directed the premier investigating agency to probe the case on a petition filed by Kamaljit Singh.Back
