Dangi proclaimed offender CHANDIGARH, Oct 5 The Special Judge of Ambala has declared Mr Anand Singh Dangi, a former Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister of Haryana, a proclaimed offender in connection with a case registered by the State Vigilance Bureau under Sections 218, 406, 409, 418, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the IPC and Section 13 (I) of the Prevention of Corruption Act on July 8. The judge observed that a complaint had been made before him that Mr Dangi had committed an offence punishable under Sections 218, 406 and 409. A warrant of arrest was issued. However, he could not be found and it has been shown to my satisfaction that the said Dangi has absconded or is concealing himself to avoid the service of the warrant. He directed that the court order (declaring him a proclaimed offender) should be circulated among all police stations of the state as well as in all other states. The judge observed that the facts of this case were that after an enquiry by the Commissioner of Ambala division as also by the Vigilance Bureau three cases were registered against Mr Dangi and officials of the Rehabilitation Department. The other accused in these cases are Mr Didar Singh, Tehsildar (now retired), Mr Narender Kumar of Ugala village, Mr Jagdish Raj (Tehsildar-sales), Mr Harish Kumar of Ugala village and Mr Rajinder Krishan. They were charged with allotting 1,405 acres 2 kanals and 14 marlas of government land to ineligible persons on the basis of bogus documents between January 1, 1995, and June 21, 1996, by violating the rules and the laid down procedure.
