Paddy purchase from Sept 21
CHANDIGARH, Sept 7 — Government agencies, including the Food Corporation of India, will procure paddy with 18 per cent moisture content from September 21, the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Mr Shanta Kumar, announced at a meet-the-press programme here today. Mr Shanta Kumar said that the decision was taken after his meetings with the Chief Ministers of both Punjab and Haryana during the past 24 hours.

Pak’s no to 14 of 28 nationals
WAGAH (Indo-Pak border), Sept 7 — The Pakistan Government today refused to accept 14 out of a total of 28 nationals who were to be deported by India through the Wagah joint checkpost here today. As a result, only 14 Pakistani nationals could be deported by noon.

NEW DELHI, Sept 7 — India’s cricket coach Kapil Dev, who was today questioned by the CBI in connection with match-fixing allegations, said he would be the “happiest man” if the report relating to the scandal was submitted at the earliest.
