GURDASPUR, July 2 — The police has unearthed a sex scandal and arrested Kashmir Kaur, alias Shashi, a resident of the Ladhupur and Renu Bala, a resident of Ghurala. The police has also arrested Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Sohwal, for allegedly kidnapping and sexually abusing a minor girl, Amanpreet Kaur (not real name), resident of the Tibri Road, Gurdaspur.

Mr Varinder Kumar said in a press note issued here today that Amanpreet Kaur was “kidnapped” by Rajesh Kumar on June 7, 2000. He had allegedly promised to marry her. The girl was working at an STD-PCO booth here.

Amanpreet Kaur revealed during preliminary interrogation that she had met the suspect while working at the STD-PCO booth. He had taken her to Delhi and Himachal Pradesh before they were caught in a car here on July, 1. During this period Rajesh Kumar had repeatedly abused her sexually.

Amanpreet said the owner of the STD-PCO booth, identified as Ravinder Singh, had also raped her.

She was working in a STD-PCO booth near hospital here and come in contact with Kashmir Kaur, alias Shashi, resident of Ladhupur and Renu Bala resident of Ghurala, who took her to various places, including Batala, Jalandhar and Nurpur in Himachal Pradesh, Amritsar and Pathankot and forced her into flesh trade.

The victim during her interrogation, also identified Sushil Kumar of Amritsar, owner of a college near Hall Gate in Amritsar, for having sexually abused her at the instance of Renu Bala.
