The special session of
the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, convened to discuss the
Autonomy Committee Report, adopted the motion seeking
restoration of the pre-1953 constitutional status earlier
this week. Whatever the arguments for and against the
demand for restoration of greater autonomy to the state,
nationalist forces are worked up over the issue. M. L. Kak speaks to a
cross-section of people about their views on autonomy.
