Anandgarh petition CHANDIGARH, June 1 — If one is to believe the list before
the Punjab and Haryana High Court of bureaucrats and politicians, who purchased land in villages
"covered" under the "first" and "second" phase of Anandgarh scheme, hundreds of acres of land has been purchased by IAS and IPS officers, besides former ministers and MLAs. According to the list IAS officer and former bigwig of the BCCI, Mr. I.S. Bindra has 60 acres in his wife’s name. IAS officers Mr. K.S. Janjua has 40 acres in his son’s name, Mr. J.S. Kesar has 10 acres while Ms Gurbinder Kaur has 50. DIG Mr. Sanjeev Gupta has 100 acres. The IAS/PCS Officers Association has 25 acres. The list goes to allege that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s son-in-law Mr. Adesh Partap Singh Kairon has 125 acres in his wife’s name brought on the basis of a GPA. A former minister in
the Beant Singh cabinet Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa has 80 acres in his close
relative's name. Another minister during Beant Singh’s tenure, Mr. Harnek Singh Gharuan has 80 acres in his close relative’s name and ex-MLA Talib Singh Sandhu has 15 acres. A Junior Engineer Dharam Singh Saini, employed with PUDA, has 130 acres in his close relative’s name, while Superintending Engineer with Municipal Corporation
Chandigarh, Mr. Man Mohanjit Singh has 25 acres. Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Mr. Aulakh has 10 acres. Colonel Baljit Singh Sandhu has 400 acres in his close relatives’ names. The list was included in a petition filed by Mr. Jasvir Singh Dhaliwal and Mr. Gurdial Singh of Ropar district seeking the quashing of the notification “for building a new township under the name of Anandgarh adjacent to Chandigarh”. It also includes the names of Contractor Jagpal Singh (land is alleged to be in name of his close relatives), SP (retd) Gian Singh, Gurdial Singh Sandhu and sons, Piara Singh Bhamnara of Agro Corporation, property dealer Pal Singh, Balbir Singh Grewal, M.P.S. Aulakh (land purchased allegedly in wife’s name) and Binni Mann. The others named as “influential persons whose connections are not yet confirmed” are Jasbir Singh Jassi,
Industrialist Rajinder Bhullar (land purchased in his and close relatives name), Kulwant Pamma, Harwinder Singh and family,
Harshwinder Singh Mann (land purchased allegedly in name of his wife and mother), Gurdial Singh Sandhu and sons, Inderjit Singh Gurdaspuria and Jimmy. In the list of people having “land on the boundary close to Anandgarh”, the petitioners have named: H.S. Meiji, Balwinder Singh (land purchased allegedly in name of his close relative), Daljit Singh (allegedly in name of close relatives), IAS Kang, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s wife Surinder Badal and XEN Mangat. The list of influential citizens claiming that they belong to royal families of the state having purchased land in the second stage of Anandgarh includes: Rajinder Singh Bhullar, Jasmer Singh Jejji, Simrat Jejji, Shiv Inder Pal Kaur, Raja Shiv Dev Inder Singh, Mukhpal Singh, Raj Kanwal, Gurbachan Kaur, Gurbacahan Singh, Captain Amrinder Singh, Kamaljit Kaur, Kanawaljit Singh Dhillon, Gurpreet Kaur, Balwan Singh Mankotia, Nawal Kishore, Yadu Nandan Kumari, Baljit Kaur Bhullar, Rajinder Chauhan, Ashok Shankar and Iqbal Singh

Gen Amarjit Singh Sandhu, Jasvir Singh Bansal, Balbir Singh Bansal, Daljit Singh, Baljit Singh, Manjit Singh, Surjit Singh, Kuldip Singh, Rajinder Singh and Mohinder Kaur. The list goes on to name: Santokh Singh, Balbir Singh, Jaswinder Kaur, Gurpreet Singh, Roopinder Singh, Harinder Singh, Jaswant Singh Bassan, Surjit Singh Randhawa, Tejinder Singh, Vanita Singh, Roopinder Dhanoa, Bikramjit Singh Bawa, Alok Mehra, Amarjit Kaur, Ajay Jain and Sushma Jain. |
