NEW DELHI, April 17 — While Bollywood actor Kishan Kumar shifted today to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences from Apollo Hospital, the other accused arrested in the case, Rajesh Kalra, has been admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, in the sensational matchfixing case involving South African cricket captain Hansie Cronje and three others.

Tabling of Chandrachud report sought
NEW DELHI, April 17 — Members, cutting across party lines, today demanded in the Lok Sabha immediate tabling of the report of Chandrachud Committee which had probed the match-fixing allegations in Indian cricket, saying the recent revelation of match-fixing during the South African tour had brought “disgrace” to the game.

UK backs India for UN seat
NEW DELHI, April 17 — The UK today came out in support of India for a permanent seat in the UN Security Council saying that “India is a natural contender for the seat.”

Oppn stages walkout in LS
NEW DELHI, April 17 — Angry Opposition members today walked out of the Lok Sabha protesting against the rejection of their notices of adjournment motion on hike in prices of essential commodities, cooking gas and urea.

CBI wants Haryana DGP shifted
CHANDIGARH, April 17 — Pressure is mounting on the Haryana Government to change its Director-General of Police, Mr S.P.S. Rathore, against whom the CBI has registered a criminal case. According to informed sources, the CBI has written to the Haryana Government to shift Mr Rathore as his continuation as the DGP will hinder the investigations in the criminal case registered by the CBI on December 29, 1999, in pursuance to the Punjab and Haryana High Court orders.
