US TV camera in Central Hall

NEW DELHI, March 19 (PTI) — For the first time, a foreign television camera is likely to record proceedings inside the Central Hall of Parliament when US President Bill Clinton addresses a joint sitting of both Houses on March 22.

The American Pool camera will be placed along with that of Doordarshan, the only channel which so far has been allowed to shoot proceedings within Parliament.

The request for the American Pool camera was made by the US Ambassador to record President Clinton’s address to a joint sitting of Parliament.

Chelsea to enjoy ‘royal Holi’

JAIPUR, March 19 (UNI) — US President Bill Clinton’s daughter Chelsea and his mother-in-law Dorothy Rodham would enjoy the “royal Holi” with the family of Jodhpur Maharaja Gajsingh tomorrow. According to the tentative programme, External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh, who hails from Rajasthan, will accompany Chelsea and Ms Rodham who would fly in an Indian Airlines special plane to Jodhpur. They are expected to reach there at 11.30 a.m. tomorrow. US Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott would also be with the American ladies while Mr Clinton would be away on his one-day visit to Bangladesh, official sources here said.Back
