Win Chadha arrives

NEW DELHI, March 18 (PTI) — Dubai-based NRI businessman Win Chadha, facing trial in the Rs 64 crore Bofors gun payoff case, arrived here today to appear before a special court on March 21.

Soon after landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport, 76-year-old Chadha was taken to Batra Hospital in South Delhi for examination, hospital sources said.

Earlier, Mr Chadha’s counsel Ritu Singh Maan confirmed he was coming here to appear before Special Judge Ajit Bharihoke on March 21.

Mr Bharihoke, who had issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Mr Chadha on February 3 for his failure to abide by an undertaking given to the court regarding his appearance, had later withdrawn the NBW and given him another opportunity to come to India and face trial.
