PATNA, March 11 — Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Legislature Party leader Rabri Devi was sworn in as Chief Minister of Bihar today, a day after the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in the state bowed out of office failing to muster the requisite numbers.

Nine killed in Bihar blast
GARWAH, March 11 — Eight jawans were among nine persons killed in a landmine blast at Bardiha village in Naxalite-dominated Garwah district of south Bihar today.

RSS chief puts govt on notice
NAGPUR, March 11 — The new RSS chief, Mr K.S. Sudarshan, today put the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre on notice on economic reforms, saying that Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee should bring in economic advisers who believed in the “swadeshi” concept.

Bibi summoned to Akal Takht today
AMRITSAR, March 11 — Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Puran Singh has summoned SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur to appear at Akal Takht tomorrow to seek an apology for violating his directives with regard to implementing the ‘controversial’ Nanakshahi calendar. She was excommunicated from the Sikh Panth by a Hukamnama issued by the Akal Takht Jathedar from Guna (Madhya Pradesh) on January 25.
