Troops destroy 8 Pak bunkers

JAMMU, March 9 (PTI) — Indian troops have destroyed eight Pakistani bunkers in retaliatory firing opposite the Poonch sector, defence sources said here today.

The sources said that Pakistani troops had resorted to unprovoked firing on forward Indian positions in the Gulpur area of the Poonch sector since Tuesday forcing Indian troops to retaliate.

In the heavy exchange of firing, eight Pakistani bunkers were destroyed in the Troti, Dhramsal and Kahota areas in the occupied Kashmir, the sources said, adding any casualties on the Pakistani side could not be immediately ascertained.

SRINAGAR: Two persons were killed and three seriously wounded in separate explosions in Jammu and Kashmir while the security forces shot dead a militant and arrested five others since Wednesday evening.

Mohammad Khaliq and Ramesh Chowdhry were killed in a powerful blast triggered by suspected militants at Lam in the Naushahra area of Rajouri district on Thursday.

In another explosion, a boy and his two sisters were critically injured at Hadi village in Poonch district on Wednesday.
