Pak Rangers, BSF exchange gunfire

JAISALMER, Feb 19 (UNI) — Tension mounted along the international border in Bikaner district of Rajasthan as the Pakistani Rangers and BSF personnel traded gunfire today.

The gunfire followed a dispute over the setting up of a post and was continuing till reports last came in.

There was no word on casualties, but the sources described the situation as “tense”. They said forces had massed along the border on both sides.

Senior BSF officials have rushed to the area.

The sources said the shelling began when the Rangers started constructing a post some 150 yards from the border.
