Over 75 rebels killed in Lanka

COLOMBO, Feb 3 (UNI) — Over 75 Tamil guerrillas were killed and more than 130 injured when troops demolished a terrorist bunker in northern Jaffna, while three passengers were injured when a bomb exploded in a Batticaloa-bound bus about 50 km from Colombo today.

The operational headquarters of the Defence Ministry said more than 70 militants were killed in the incident while five others were killed in other clashes in the same area.

In another operation in northern Wanni, security forces launched an attack on a terrorist bunker. Defence sources said the rebels suffered heavy casualties.
