HP’s go-ahead for
tree felling
SHIMLA,
Jan 20 — Plagued with perennial financial crisis,
the fund-starved Himachal Government has finally given
the go-ahead for felling of green trees. The decision is
likely to double the state’s forest revenue from the

UKLANA (Hisar), Jan 20 — Apparently
fed up with poverty, a young couple committed suicide in
Chamar Khera village after poisoning their two children.
According to neighbours, Bhura Ram (25), his wife Saroj
(20) and children — Puja (4) and Deepak (2) —
were found dead in their house last night.

CHANDIGARH,
Jan 20 — The Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has
registered a criminal case against a contractor of
Bhiwani, Mr Satpal alias Pahari, who is alleged to be
close to Mr Surender Singh, a former MP and son of a
former Chief Minister, Mr Bansi Lal.
