NEW DELHI, Sept 18 — the Prime Minister today unveiled a seven-point strategy to rev up the economy in the present "difficult and uncertain" environment to achieve an annual growth rate of 7 per cent.

JAMMU, Sept 18 — Pakistani troops opened fire on 16 outposts along the international border and the police has shot dead a Pakistani national during an encounter at Khajra village of Poonch district in Jammu since yesterday, official reports said here today.

NEW DELHI, Sept 18 — The Supreme Court today suspended the seven-year-rigorous- imprisonment sentences given to stock broker Hiten Dalal and former Canara Bank official S. Mohan in the 1992 multi-crore securities scam while admitting their appeals against their conviction.

ISLAMABAD, Sept 18 — A revolt brewing within the ruling Pakistan Muslim League has further derailed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Islamisation plans, forcing the government to postpone for the time being voting on the controversial Shariah Bill in the National Assembly.
