ROHTAK, Oct 12 — The Congress President, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, has said the Haryana Government has failed on all fronts and lost the right to stay in power. Mrs Gandhi was addressing a state-level Congress workers' meeting here today.

Ramamurthy was stripped of the Petroleum portfolio under pressure from AIADMK chief J. Jayalalitha.

Government abets distress sales
CHANDIGARH, Oct 12 — Hapless paddy growers are resorting to distress sale of their crop in the mandis of Punjab. Reports suggest that in several mandis paddy is being either directly purchased by millers from farms or from mandis. The government is silent about the purchases from outside mandis where millers pay less than the procurement rate and also avoid mandi taxes.
