Indo-Pak talks on Kashmir

NEW DELHI, Oct 6
Indo-Pak composite dialogue will be held in New Delhi
from November 5 to 13.
"In the context of
the resumption of their official dialogue, India and
Pakistan had agreed last month that talks on the subjects
of Siachen, Tulbul Navigation Project, Sir Creek,
economic and commercial cooperation, terrorism and drug
trafficking and promotion of friendly exchanges in
various fields will be held in the first half of
November", a Ministry of External Affairs Press
release said today.
The issue of Jammu and
Kashmir and peace, security and confidence building
measures will be covered by the Foreign Secretaries of
India and Pakistan at the four-day official talks in
Islamabad from October 15.
The Tulbul Navigation
Project talks will be held on November 5, the Press
release said adding that the talks will be held between
the Secretaries of Water and Power of the two countries.
Siachen will be taken up
by the Defence Secretaries on November 6 and Sir Creek
will be discussed on November 9 by the Surveyor General
and Additional Secretary (Defence).
Economic and commercial
cooperation will be taken up by the Commerce Secretaries
of the two countries on November 10, the press release
said. Terrorism and drug trafficking will be discussed by
the Home Secretary of India and the Interior Secretary of
Pakistan on November 12.
Promotion of friendly
exchanges in various fields will figure on November 13
during the talks between the Culture Secretaries of India
and Pakistan.
