Campaigning ends in four states NEW DELHI, Nov 23 — The month long-electioneering for the November 25 assembly poll in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Mizoram, seen as a major test for the eight-month-old Vajpayee Government and Sonia Gandhi’s leadership of the Congress, came to an end this evening.
Cong bid to divide people: Vajpayee NEW DELHI, Nov 23 — Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee today criticised the Congress for its attempts to divide people on the basis of religion and justifying the imposition of the Emergency in 1975. Hamdard quits Anandpur Sahib Foundation

SAWAI MADHOPUR, Nov 23 — The Union Home Minister, Mr L.K. Advani, today said he had asked the investigating agencies to probe the political links of Romesh Sharma, alleged frontman of Dubai-based don Dawood Ibrahim, as he had been said to be acting as an agent of the Pakistani ISI in Delhi.

Cabinet clears insurance privatisation
NEW DELHI, Nov 23 — The Union Cabinet tonight cleared a proposal for opening up the insurance sector to the private sector subject to the condition that foreign equity holding not exceed more than forty per cent.

6 chargesheeted in dropsy case
NEW DELHI, Nov 23 — Six businessmen and traders, including Delhi-based Kamal Oil Mills owner Kamal Aggarwal, were today chargesheeted by the CBI in cases relating to mustard oil adulteration, which caused over 60 dropsy deaths in the Capital in August and September.

Sena threatens to break alliance
MUMBAI, Nov 23 — Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today threatened to break off his party’s alliance with the BJP over allowing the Pakistani cricket team to play in India early next year giving a new turn to the ongoing tussle between the two parties over the issue.
