ROHTAK, Dec 23 — Satish, son of Brijpal, today confessed to the killing of 10 girl children in the court of Mr H.S. Thakur, Judicial Magistrate, Bahadurgarh.

The suspected sex-maniac had created terror in sub-divisional town of Bahadurgarh bordering Delhi, when he kidnapped and murdered one girl after another in the past over three years. He admitted having kidnapped 14 girls of whom 10 were killed.

The incidents had forced the Bahadurgarh police to spend sleepless nights and with a view to pacifying the residents, it had arrested two persons in 1996. But the kidnapping and murder of girls continued after these arrests.

However, the vital clue about the serial killer was provided by the nine-year-old Somani, who had escaped from the clutches of the serial killer. She was kidnapped on November 19 but was recovered safely the following day. The girl led the police to the house where she was kept for the night. This led to the arrest of Satish.

Satish told the court that he knew that the confessional statement would be used against him during the trial of the case. He was making the statement without any pressure and fear.

The first girl, he told the court, was kidnapped about three to four years ago from between Ghevra Mor and Nizampur villages. She was let off in the wheat fields near the Bamroli Mor.

The second girl was kidnapped from Netaji Nagar, Bahadurgarh. He took her to the fields and attempted to rape her. Later, he killed the girl by strangulation. The third girl was kidnapped from near Parnala village. She too was strangulated after an attempt to rape her.

The fourth girl was lifted by him from near Bahadurgarh bus stand while she was asleep. He took her to a deserted place and killed her after an attempt to rape.

The fifth girl was abducted from Ramlila Nahri road. He took her to a dilapidated house and killed her in the same manner. After killing the girl he threw the body near a pond.

His sixth victim was from Nehru Park, Bahadurgarh. He took her to the fields between Parnala and Nizampur villages. He tried to rape and kill this girl also but was not sure whether she was dead or alive.

After this he kidnapped another girl from a bridge near Subzi-Mandi during day time. He took her towards Parnala village and killed her on an empty plot after a rape attempt. His ninth victim was from the Shankar Garden area. He took this girl to a park and killed her.

Thereafter, he lifted another girl from near the pencil factory, took her to a nearly drain, killed her and threw the body into the drain. The 10th victim was lifted from near Bamroli Mor and killed her like the other girls. He left her body under a peepul tree near the Chor-Piayu.

Another girl was kidnapped from near her house in Shankar Garden. She also met the same fate as the previous victims had. Her body was also thrown near a drain.

Still another girl, he told the court, was lifted from outside the house in MIE area while she was sleeping. He took her to an empty industrial plot, tied her hands with a wire and killed her.

Satish told the court that after the last incident he went to the place where her parents were sleeping to apologise. He also tried to wake up a woman but could not do so and left the place thereafter.

He told that Somani was lifted from near the chappal factory during day and took her to his house in Parnala. He tried to rape her twice at night. But his younger sister and brother were at home and he introduced the girl as daughter of the contractor.

In the morning he left the girl near an abandoned factory. He had also tried to strangulate the girl but she escaped and led the police to his house.back
