Laloo, Mishra to appear in
court today

Former Chief Ministers, Laloo Prasad Yadav and Mr
Jagannath Mishra would be produced before a designated
CBI court here in a conspiracy angle case of the fodder
scam tomorrow, investigating agency sources said.
Former Bihar ministers
Vidya Sagar Nishad, C.P. Verma and RJD MLA R.K. Rana,
besides senior IAS officer Sajal Chakraborty, former
Regional Director (AHD-Ranchi) S.B. Sinha, are among
other accused who are likely to be produced before the
Special Judge, Mr S.K. Lal, in the case, the sources
said.
Mr Yadav, Mr Mishra, Mr
Nishad and Mr Verma have already secured regular bail in
the case (RC 20 (A)/96) which relates to fraudulent
withdrawals of more than Rs 37 crore from Chaibasa
Treasury by the state Animal Husbandry Department
officials through "forged and fake" bills, the
sources said.
They are at present lodged
in judicial custody in the Beur jail in another
conspiracy case (RC 64 A/96) which deals with fraudulent
withdrawals of over Rs 97 lakh from Deoghar Treasury.
The Supreme Court has
adjourned till December 18 the hearing on their petitions
against the Patna High Court order denying bail to them
in the case.
