Opposition presses for PM's resignation
NEW DELHI, Dec 2 — The Vajpayee government was at the receiving end in the Lok Sabha today with the Samajwadi Party and the CPM seeking the Prime Minister’s resignation in the wake of his party’s defeat in the recent assembly elections and the Congress leading an Opposition onslaught.
 
The Punjab Chief Minister, Mr Parkash Singh Badal, is flanked by Mr Rajesh Shah, President, CII, and Mr Rajan Nanda, Chairman, Steering Committee, and Mr Arun Bharat Ram, Chairman, CII, northern region, at the inaugural ceremony of Agro Tech '98 in Chandigarh on Wednesday.

Plotting crime in jails
CHANDIGARH, Dec 2 — Dreaded gangsters Santa Singh and Bittu — now under arrest — did not know each other. They met inside the Ambala jail almost a year ago where they reportedly chalked out a scheme along with others to form a gang that had been on a looting and raping spree in the past two months.
