20 of militant's family shot
9 killed in Udhampur villages
JAMMU, Aug 4 — At least 20 persons were killed following a feud between two militant outfits — Lashkar-e-Toiba and Hizbul Mujahideen — at Sailan village near Bafliaz, 200 km west of Jammu, in Poonch district last night.
Nine members of a community were killed in two incidents in Udhampur today.


Chamba killers spotted
in Pangi valley

SHIMLA, Aug 4 — A group of militants who killed 35 labourers at Kalaban and Shatrundi hamlets in Chamba district yesterday were reported to have been spotted.

Nuclear test ban talks on: PM
NEW DELHI, Aug 4 — India is seeking international recognition for its declared moratorium on nuclear tests, which is akin to adherence to the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, the Prime Minister, Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee, told the Lok Sabha today.

Bill on FEMA introduced
NEW DELHI, Aug 4 — The Union Finance Minister, Mr Yashwant Sinha, today introduced the much-delayed Foreign Exchange Management Bill, which seeks to replace the existing Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA), and the Prevention of Money Laundering Bill in the Lok Sabha.
